Language apps filled the affordability gap, but they teach vocabulary and grammar rules through tapping and swiping. You pick the right word from a list; you never have to form a thought out loud.

The result is a speaking practice gap. Most learners understand far more English than they can produce in conversation. They read a menu, follow a movie, pass a grammar quiz — then freeze when a colleague asks "How was your weekend?" The gap between understanding English and speaking English is where confidence dies. And no amount of flashcards closes it. What people need is a patient, affordable conversation partner who corrects them in real time. That's what Dara is.

What Dara Does

Dara is an AI voice English tutor that lives inside Telegram. You open the bot, start a voice call, and begin speaking English. Dara leads the conversation — asking questions, introducing topics, and guiding you through exercises matched to your level. When you make a mistake, she corrects you on the spot and explains what went wrong in your native language. Forty-two languages are supported for explanations.

This is a real voice call, not voice messages or text chat. You speak, Dara listens, responds, and corrects — just like a human tutor would. She remembers your weak spots between sessions and adapts lessons from absolute beginner (A0) all the way to advanced (C2). There's nothing to download: Dara runs inside the Telegram app you already have. The first 60 minutes are free, no credit card required. After that, it's $6.99 a month — roughly the cost of a single cup of coffee per week, and a fraction of one tutor hour.

How Dara Teaches

Under the hood, Dara uses a pipeline of speech recognition, a large language model for understanding and responding, and voice synthesis for natural-sounding conversation. But what matters is how that pipeline feels to you: like talking to a patient teacher who never gets tired.

When you make a mistake, Dara doesn't just correct it. She explains why it's wrong — in your language — gives you the right version, and asks you to try again. If you say "He go to school yesterday," Dara will explain that past tense requires "went," give you the corrected sentence, and have you repeat it. Over time, she builds a memory of your recurring errors and returns to them until they stick.

This is closer to how a good human tutor works than any flashcard app. Repetition at the point of failure, in context, out loud. That's how speaking skills actually develop.
